This challenge has been fairly easy for me, the only thing I really miss is going out for food. It's not something I do everyday but once a week, usually on the weekend I will meet up with a friend and try a new vegan place - we are spoilt for choice in London. I miss being able to make plans like that or accept spontaneous invitations out.
I have been super lucky that my friends and family have bee amazing during this challenge, either by footing the bill or by getting involved. One of my friends brought a flask of tea on our outing to Greenwich park and we sat at the top of the hill taking in the view drinking from our flask. I was actually so impressed by this and I think it was one of my favourite days this month. Ahh the simple things in life.
Pro's & Con's
Definitely more pro's than con's for this one and its something I will probably do again. A good life tool to be disciplined enough to stick to no spending. I would try again later in the year if I was looking to save money.
Anytime I thought of something I wanted I wrote it down. At the end of the challenge I reviewed my list and revised it based on what I really need. The list now consists of 3 things that I will buy next month...
1. New Home Phone - my current one is broken
2. Travel Utensils Cutlery Set
3. Vibrational Medicine by Richard Gerber
All in all a very positive experience as I feel much more grateful for my life and the money I do have but I am happy to get back to spending, not in excess just a little bit on the important things. Like books! This was the thing I missed the most. I love to read and educate myself and without the funds I was unable to get my hands on the books I wanted to read. Yes I know there are libraries but unfortunately they do not stock the esoteric type books I like.
Comment below and let me know about your experiences with spending/ no spending and if you would be brave enough to take up this challenge.
Thank you for reading and supporting my journey of inner growth!
With love & gratitude.
