What a beautiful month November has been! Not only did I celebrate my 30th birthday, yes that's right the big 30! I also began morning pages (a morning journal practice where you stream your unconscious thoughts for 3 pages) which has changed so many aspects of my being. My mind is calmer. I am able to have more space to create and give attention to things I want to spend time thinking about or doing.
The purpose of morning pages is to clear your plate and start fresh, every day. For me this was so helpful and as I went on with the challenge I noticed I had less negative thoughts in my mind. The majority of my writing had found the up beat, the way I like living my life outwardly. It seemed my inner self still had some battles, worries and emotions that I just wasn't giving space to let free.
Every day that I wrote, more of the day to day struggles came out, and now after a month I feel my writing is very mixed. Some days it is creative and I come up with thoughts to share on Instagram, other days I find myself writing about new life philosophies. Alternatively I find myself immersed in affirmations or writing my to do lists out.
The pleasure that comes with this morning practice is that you set your day up by doing this. This is truly a challenge worth trying out, if you didn't join me during the month then please give it a go. I personally recommend it. Like I have found with most of these challenges, they are worth keeping up. This one will most definitely be part of my future routine and I will be continuing this practice into December and the rest of my days.
