Over the years I have tried and tested many ideas, concepts or tools to deepen and expand myself. Ultimately all of these methods would achieve a healthier, more positive way of being and better the mind, body and soul. It is just as important though, for us to remember that there are other parts of our life that could use their share of positive vibes.
By this I am referring to our living and working spaces. We may have taken care of our mind, body and soul but aren’t we forgetting about something? If we neglect the spaces that we spend time in such as our home, bedroom, working environment, car etc then we are really missing a trick. It is possible to cleanse up the energy in our personal spaces just as we do for the rest of us.
In today’s post I will be sharing 3 key ways to create a positive aura in your home. These tips can be applied to any living spaces though, even if you only have a room.
Plants are my #1 must for creating a positive aura within the home. I have lots of plants all over my house, especially in the bedroom. Plants are special because not only do they bring in positive energy, they also purify the air we breathe.
Considering we spend so much time indoors these days isn’t it about time we cleansed up our internal environments with some beautiful looking and cleansing plants. Especially considering it is said that: "The indoor environment is 5 to 10 times more polluted than the exterior" (1994 CSIRO review)
It does take a little bit of time to learn how to care for them. But once you get the hang of it, it’s easy as pie. Also if you don’t have any children or pets like me then you get to take care of your plant babies instead.
The list of benefits really is endless, here are a few more…
The first time I encountered ‘smudging’ was during my stay in a wonderful home in Ibiza. Tessa, the enchanting host, came home one day and was preparing things for the next guest. This was when I saw her clear the energy from the home. It was a divine moment, where the energy of past humans dissipated and the energy within the space was renewed.
I discovered that “smudging” (the burning of particular aromatic herbs to fill a room with smoke and then ventilating it) was a typical Native American practice that helps to purify or clear out negative energy from a space. This can be very useful if you have any unwelcome residual energy from visitors or occupants of your home and is an effective way to renew the energy quickly.
I personally use White Sage Smudge Sticks they are relatively cheap and can be found on Amazon. After completing my morning practices such as yoga and meditation I will burn the Sage to renew the energy within my home. I do this every morning to symbolise that each day is an opportunity for a fresh start. If I have visitors to my home I will also burn Sage after they have left to cleanse the space.
If you want to be extra like me, then this Smudge Bowl from Orenda Ceramics is beautiful and I feel really adds to the whole experience.
I also burn incense as I feel that the smell is a little more warming than the sage and I will typically burn the incense if I have guests over or if I want the room to smell nice. Nowadays I pretty much use this in place of candles, as I feel the incense adds to the aura of the house more and promotes cleansing.
3. Himalayan Salt Lamp
Himalayan Salt lamps are large pieces of pure Himalayan Salt with a small bulb inside, when lit they give off a lovely warm glow. I have my lamp in the bedroom as I feel it relaxes me and is best used there. Soon after purchasing it I noticed a difference in my space. If I was feeling unwell I would sleep with the lamp on and immediately be rejuvenated by its warm glow.
So why are they so good for us?
These lamps are said to produce negative ions which promote wellbeing. Negative ions are also found in nature, the beach and water. The Salt Lamps produce a similar effect that makes us feel good the same way as if we were in nature, of course the Salt Lamp can only do this on a small scale but the same benefits are reported.
As we have many positive ions in the form of electronic devices the Salt Lamp helps to neutralize these. Negative ions (Salt Lamp, Nature etc) can neutralize positive ions (electronics) and help cleanse the air.

I also use an Atlantis Radiation Neutraliser. The Atlantis Neutralizer protects buildings against Geopathic Stress, EMF and "evil eye", envy and other kinds of detrimental energies.
This has been one of the best investments I ever made. This truly ensures my home stays free of negative energy and promotes wellbeing.
I personally love it because it helped with my constant headaches and now I no longer suffer when using the computer.

As I have evolved on my health journey from a junk food lover in my teens, to an “I’m too busy to eat” professional, to sadly an “I’m sick, I need to change” grown-up, I have gone through a lot of stages with my health and I am proud of where I am today. It is not 100% perfect all the time, but who is! I have slip ups or choose the wrong option sometimes, its normal when we are growing in this space.
The most important part in becoming healthy is consistency.
You do have to change your lifestyle to become healthy, and once you are on that journey you need to maintain those good habits in order to keep your health balanced. If getting healthy is high on your priority list this summer then take note of the following 7 mistakes most people make when trying to become healthy, I know this because I have lived and breathed it!
